“The Tongue”, WHY and HOW?
The tongue is a muscular organ in the mouth. The
tongue is all muscle,
but not just one muscle – it's made up of 8
different muscles that intertwine with each other
creating a flexible matrix, much like an elephant's trunk.
It's called a muscular hydrostat, and the tongue muscles
are the only muscles in the human
body that work independently of the skeleton. Which means it
can be trained… and this training will facilitate in coordination with the
diaphragm and controlled breathing your vocal experience.
Discipline and full
concentration on all training exercises everyday should be adhered too if you
want positive results!
Pronunciation/ Facial/ Diction: “Why is this important”
Going through the
alphabet in English with full facial movement as you will be taught is actually
the beginning of performance singing. It may seem elementary, but it will
actually help your diction and pronunciation of words which is critical if you
sing in English. You will learn how to bend the words to fit the dialect and or
message from within the song, in which you are conveying. But you have to start
from the basic formation of the word… which comes from the alphabet. Good
diction is critical to the understanding of the message being conveyed(sung).
